Extensible Plating (starting point node): The Ships storage is now cushioned with a carbon fiber extensible plating that increases hauling capacity while improving its resistance. Increase Shield by 50 and Hauling stat by 4.
Extra Shielding: Increase Shield by 10 points.
Prerequisites: Extensible Plating (1).
External Ore Lockers: Increase Hauling by 2.
Prerequisites: Extra Shielding (2).
Converter Module: The Xanadu is equipped with a Module that greatly converts shield fuel and energy to shield with minimum to no impact in the overall functionality. Increases max shield capacity by 100. Shield Orbs restore 20% more Shield.
Prerequisites: External Ore Lockers (3) + Mongolian Reactor (7)
Guardian Sensors (starting point node): These sensors further improve the Xanadu as the basic line of defense for any mining operation. Increases damage by 3% for each friendly ship within range (including self).
Flight Stabilizer: Increase Maneuverability by 1.
Prerequisites: Extra Shielding (2) + Guardian Sensors (5)
Mongolian Reactor: With greater energy efficiency come additional upgrades. Blast Shield consumes 25% less energy for each damaging impact.
Prerequisites: **Flight Stabilizer (**6).
Extra Steel Plates: Increase HP by 10 points.
Prerequisites: **Guardian Sensors (**5)
Security Mag-field: Although the Xanadu is mostly used because of its low manufacturing cost, its one of the only ships that can hold a Security Mag-field without harming its integral functionalities. Reduces incoming damage for friendly ships within range by 5% (including self).
Prerequisites: **Extra Steel Plates (**8)
After the ratification of the 2260 “Gentlemen’s” HR Agreement, ship designers raced to bring unmanned combat craft to market. In order to jumpstart the process, Aktigos and Chengdu collaborated on a joint project. Chengdu named their version “Xuanwu” (玄武) after a mythical black turtle, while Aktigos called theirs “Cherepakha” (черепаха).
Though both came to market in 2264 and briefly sold well, the alliance quickly broke down and Aktigos discontinued the production. Chengdu continued to iterate on the BA-12 Xuanwu design over the years until they also discontinued it in 2283. After years of consumer demand, Chengdu eventually sold the rights to Starbright Futurecorp, rebranding it the BA-23 “Xanadu” based on a popular nickname used by pilots. Shortly after, Chengdu went to bankrupt and was absorbed by Strabright.
The Xanadu returned to the marketplace in 2312 with updated energy capacitors, nanofac-ready rapid assembly subsystems, and advanced hot-swappable weapons mounts enabling budget-conscious pilots to swiftly launch into battle.
